March 20th, 2007 cutaway Posted in Helpful, Presentations No Comments » 1,488 views

I have just uploaded the next installment for the Guided Group discussions titled System Protections – Initial.

Securing your system from the outset is very important. There are many methods and techniques. This discussion brings up a few of the initial details that should be taken into consideration from the outset or even from a new security mindset for an existing system. It is not intended to be a step-by-step guide but more of a few ideas to get the discussion flowing.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. Also, if you have an idea for future topics post a comment and I’ll take it into consideration.

I have just uploaded the next installment for the Guided Group discussions titled Secure Web Application Considerations.

This discussion covers the problems, benefits, areas of concern, and resources involved when developing web applications. I purposely did not delve into issues such as Cross Site Scripting and SQL Injection because I want to focus the discussion on good coding practices.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. Also, if you have an idea for future topics post a comment and I’ll take it into consideration.

Go forth and do good things,
Cutaway

This edition of Security Ripcord Podcast covers the reasons why security professionals should respond to walware in their incident response plan. Cutaway also introduces a new security presentation program called Guided Group Discussions with the first GGD titled "Information Disclosure." He also covers the Leadership Trait – Justice and how it applies to security professionals.
