Security Ripcord

Trusted Catalyst Founder a Man to Watch

I will have to second the admiration that Michael Farnum bestowed upon Michael J. Santarcangelo, II today in his post titled "A man with vision".  For the past six months Michael has proved to be a good mentor, guide, and friend who has helped keep me on track during a tough transition.  All via e-mail, skype, chat, and phone.  Perhaps the best thing that he has provided me with is the knowledge that there are good people in the security profession.  People who want to make a difference in their professional and personal lives.  People who want to be leaders as well as managers.  People who want to move beyond the boundaries set by the traditional concept of security where it is implement quickly in response to actions or regulations and turn it into a main stream mode of operations that integrates with our businesses and lives.

Now I don't expect everybody to get along with Michael.  In fact his mode of operations can be overwhelming to certain personalities.  But one thing I believe that everybody will see once they listen to his podcasts and read his publications is that he is open to ideas.  Open to new, old, and changing conceptual views.  But, be careful.  Because if you do start talking to him he may just call you out and ask you to start implementing your views.  He many ask you to try and make a difference and move security forward through education and personal action.  If you are up to it, take the challenge.  You will be a better person for it.

Thank you Michael for your assistance these past months and challenging me to trust myself and stay the course.  I look forward to an eventful and educational future.

Go forth and do good things,

Cutaway
