Security Ripcord

Security Ripcord Friday Wrap-up 9/25/2009

Slow week, again, lots of programming.

Leadership

Fail. Try it sometimes. Adam Savage talked about it at DefCon 17. I have been doing it all week. Trying to program better ways to gather Windows operating system information with using the minimum amount of tools to reduce the affect of each tool’s impact on the system.  This is harder than you think.  I am not saying it cannot be done, but with my current development skillsets it is a challenge for me.  Hopefully these failures make me better in the long run.  Hopefully.

Training

I have posted a couple of questions to StackOverflow.com recently.  This equates to me asking for help to, hopefully, reduce my failure rate.  Check it out if you have development or other questions.  The responses come fairly quickly and are usually right on the mark.

Quick Tip

I wish I could say that I have pulled a nugget of goodness out of this week’s work, but I cannot.  If anything, I guess “Read the Manual” comes to mind.  I highly recommend it.

Personal Input

You don’t have to be nice to EVERYBODY…especially when they are not being nice to you.

Go forth and do good things,
